Prints
My reconnection with printmaking began in the Penland studios after a very long hiatus. The complexity and immediacy snagged me as it had in the past, and I began to explore monotypes, monoprints, woodcuts, and lithography anew.
My high school art teacher was a printmaker who instilled in me a fascination with process, a love of the way ink smells and good paper feels, and a deep satisfaction with seeing the three come together in a print. Currently, I am working with history and remembrance, observation and the natural environment, alongside patterns and abstraction as my subject matter.
